Happy Birthday Belgium!

175 years since independence, although there have been a couple of notable hiccups along the way. For a short while I knew a reasonable amount about Belgium. On a university field trip when I was doing my Geography degree we were given a list of topics to prepare talks about to fill the time on the bus travelling. A quick perusal of the list and a quick check of the route indicated to me that although Belgium was a topic but that we were not actually travelling through it. This, I reasoned made it unlikely I would be called on to do my talk. I prepared one anyway, but I never gave it.

Yesterday was, of course, Columbian Independence Day and tomorrow is Polish Liberation Day, but Belgium, for me as a ZZ9er will always be special.
